On Monday we drove over the Alpes to Chironico on the south side of the Gotthard pass to escape the snow. We spent the whole day in the warm sun resting from the last days in Magic Wood. On the next day we tried some old projects – Max did an old 8a boulder problem and I tried „Alphane Moon“ again, but it felt even worse than the last time I had tried it. In the evening I spent my time on Slimline – a nice highball boulder – but I was too tired to do it. During the day the weather changed also on the Alpe south side and it started snowing while we were bouldering. Freezing and tired we spent the night in Chironico.

Max sending one of his old projects – a hard but successful fight.

The next day the weather got better again and we had some sun. Laura and Max were resting and I tried a bunch of boulders in the Centrale sector. Frieder Warth recommended me a boulder called „Le cliques a claques“ (7b+) – a tricky body positioning problem. It’s not about power, but getting the right position and was fun to climb.

Les cliques a claques – a super cool body positioning problem.

I tried a lot of other boulders and failed on a lot of them – in the end I flashed the „Shield“ (7b+), climbed „Brechstange“ (7c) and „Sloperattack“ (7a) and some others …. I had no more skin on my fingertips, because some boulders were super sharp and I was totally tired, but it was super good day in Chironico. Thanks to Max and Laura for your patience 🙂 .

Sending a short boulder problem called „Brechstange“ (7c).
